Opening Parafraze…

The essentials

How to play Parafraze

  1. 01
Join and make two teams. The host chooses Standard, Point Race, Survival, or Knockout. Pick a team, mark yourself ready, and wait for the game to start.
  2. 02
Take turns giving clues. Teams alternate turns. One player becomes the clue-giver while their teammates guess.
  3. 03
Describe anything on the board. The clue-giver can describe the available words in any order, skip difficult ones, and return to them later.
  4. 04
Don’t give away the spelling. Never say part of the answer, spell it, give its initials, or use “rhymes with.”
  5. 05
Teammates type their guesses. Exact answers earn full points and close spellings earn half. Capitalization, accents, spaces, and punctuation are optional.
  6. 06
Review, then switch teams. The host can correct each recap. Standard ends after everyone gives clues, Point Race ends after an equal-turn round reaches the target, Survival tests each team against a solve goal, and Knockout makes the lower-scoring team lose a life after each matched round.
